Ammunition Test-could save your life
I was practiceing Reloading with the S&W 442. This is an AirWeight Snubby.http://thm-a01.yimg.com/image/7b7bdeb6c71030d8
I was testing for speed reloading Federal Premium 38 +Phttp://thm-a01.yimg.com/image/a8cbf4aebe7ebb84 and Hornady Critical Defense 38+p http://thm-a01.yimg.com/image/9c1cec58cc9e59c4 These pictures do not clearly tell the story but the main point I want to make is the shape of the bullet loads much faster with a speed loader. The Hornady Critical Defense has a pointyer(SP) cone shaped bullet with a plug in the Hollow point cavity. The Fedreal Premium has a larger cavity face but a less pointy shape. The test------- I closed my eyes and emptied a full load then with each type of bullet used my speed loader to reload. The Hornady was about 1 1/2 Second faster to reload than the Federal Premium. This is due to the pointyer(SP) shape of the actual copper bullet. It catches and directs the bullet deeper into the cylinder than the Federal Premium. I did this test about 3 times with each and the results were always the same . Hornady Reloads Faster!!!!!! I have shot both and they shoot to the same point of aim. I can't tell the difference in Recoil or accuracy. I will have the Federals in the Cylinder and the Hornadys in the speed loader from now on. Thought I would let you know. E-A |
